Pratt Sandhills and Texas Lake

Pratt Sandhills and Texas Lake Wildlife Area are a unique sand prairie habitat and eastern most range of the lesser prairie chicken in Kansas. The birds gather at theri booming grounds from late March to early May. To observe the behavious of these birds you`ll have to get there before sunrise. The marshy areas attract waterfowl and shorebirds, while a variety of mammals and reptiles can be found area wide.
