Leadership Programs |
|
Leadership 2000 PLUS is the leadership program that was established in 1992 by the Chamber, with one adult class attending one full day of training monthly. In 1999, that program became part of Kansas Health Foundation's community leadership training. From our participation in that, we were selected for a three-year pilot project with the Kansas Health Foundation entitled Leader Full.
Leader Full is a
three year project, started in 2003 and is in addition to the "traditional"
leadership program. The purpose of Leader Full is to -
- Develop confidence and strength in individuals and targeted groups by infusing leadership skills throughout key systems in the community;
- To develop leadership capacities appropriate to the needs and the diversity of the community in order for the residents of all ages, socio-economic status, and ethnic origin to effectively identify and collaboratively meet their challenges; and
- To develop a sense of ownership and responsibility in individuals and targeted groups for the holistic quality of life.
Our "traditional" program is nine sessions focusing on leadership skills and capacities along with communities awareness. Leader Full expands that program to two adult and one Junior offering a year plus many other activities to take leadership training to as many as possible in the community.
