  • Delmar Riney Gallery at Pratt Community College is host to several exhibits each year.  Guest artists display their work in the gallery and give lectures to art students and community members.  Student and faculty work are also displayed in the gallery during two exhibits each year.
     
    The gallery is open 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.  For more information contact the Pratt Community College Art Department at 620_672_5641 ext. 228.
     
  • Pratt Public Library has a sculpture of jumping fish and pelican by Bruce Moore and paintings and prints by noted Lindsburg artist Berger Sandzen.
Hunting, Fishing & Wildlife Go to top of page
Hunters in a field near Pratt Hunting: The Pratt area and surrounding counties offer some of the richest hunting opportunities in the state.
 
Bird hunting opportunities include prairie chicken, duck, turkey, canada goose, and sandhill crane.  Turkey and deer are considered big game and require the purchase of a game tag in addition to a hunting license.
  • Fishing: Sport fishing species include small and largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, striper, wiper and walleye.  Fishing regulations on the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Fishing website.
     
  • Wildlife Viewing: Wildlife in the Pratt area is abundant.  There is easy access to world class birdwatching, peaking during spring and fall migrations at nearby state and federal wildlife areas.
     
    Cheyenne Bottoms, Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, Pratt Sandhills and Texas Lake are all located within a short distance.  The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is an excellent resource.
     
  • Pratt Sandhills & Texas Lake: These wildlife areas have unique sand prairie habitats and are the eastern most range of the lesser prairie chicken in Kansas.  The birds gather at their booming grounds from late March to early May. 
     
    To observe the behavior of these birds you'll have to get there before sunrise.  The marshy areas and draws attract waterfowl and shorebirds, while a variety of mammals and reptiles can be found area wide.

  • Barron Theater in downtown Pratt, Kansas The Barron Theater is an art-deco twin screen theater located in the downtown that shows first run movies.  Call 620_672_3031 or 1_800_794_5003 for show times and what is showing.
     
  • Pratt Community College Theater presents a fall drama and spring musical production.  Both students and community members contribute to these productions in a variety of ways.  For more information call Pratt Community College at 620_672_5641.
     
  • Pratt Music Theatre presents lively as well as dramatic performances throughout the year.  For more information call Pratt Music Theatre at 620_672_7740.

Pratt is proud of its 193 acres of parks.  Once a tallgrass prairie, Pratt is now known as "A tree city" and the parks system continues to be developed for all and future generations.
  • Pond in Pratt's Lemon Park Lemon Park
    Lemon Park is approximately 117 acres, the largest of the parks in Pratt.  Park features include a nature trail, wood sculptures, ball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, pond, play equipment, picnic tables, shelter houses, gazebo and lighted walking path.
     
    The park is named after George Lemon who took a personal interest in landscaping, introducing a variety of non-native trees to the area.  About 80 varieties of trees survive today.  These trees are the city's natural treasures and the park is used extensively for walking, roller blading, ball games, picnicking and enjoying nature.  Several wood sculptures by artist Clayton Coss are located in the park.
     
  • Avenue of Flags marks the entrance to Pratt's 193 acre park system.  In the backdrop of the flags you will notice a welcoming Lady Liberty.  The park is located near the intersection of Stout and Highway 54.
     
  • Walter Blake Tennis Complex in Pratt, Kansas Graves Park & Walter Blake Tennis Complex: The park and lighted tennis courts, located just south of the Kinney Memorial Swimming Pool on South Rochester, contain ten tennis courts plus handball courts.
     
  • South Main Street Park is located near the heart of Pratt and offers basketball courts, picnic and playground areas, and a skate park.
     
  • Swimming Pool: The Ellis D. Kinney Swimming Pool, just north of the tennis courts, is the state's second largest municipal swimming pool complete with water slide.
     
  • Zerger Park is located in the 100 block of South Thompson Street and Highway 54.  A summertime wading pool is open to toddlers from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.  A stone picnic shelter welcomes the weary traveler or a family get together.  New playground equipment includes a handicap accessible swing.
     
  • Centennial Park at Third Street and Thompson is ideal for family reunions or large groups.  The picnic area has a concrete stage for live entertainment, and the tree shaded area lends itself to public events.
     
  • Cherry Street Park is located between School, Curtis and Cherry Streets.  In the summer the small ball diamond draws a neighborhood baseball game, while a winter snow attracts sledders to the gentle but fun slope on the east side.
     
  • Champa Street Park offers a sheltered picnic area, playground equipment and restroom facilities.
     
  • Gebhart Park is a favorite play site for small children because of its equipment and sheltered picnic area.  The park is located at Hamilton and Second Streets.  The summer time wading pool is open from 1:00pm_4:00 pm.
     
  • Mae Dennis Park, at Mound and Logan Streets, is a large open-area park with recreational soccer, flag football fields, playground equipment and a frisbee golf course.

Pratt Recreation Department offers youth and adults a variety of sporting interests year round.  Adult activities include basketball, indoor/outdoor volleyball, softball, tennis and aerobics.
 
A soccer game in Pratt, Kansas Youth activities include softball, baseball, T-ball, tennis, basketball, soccer, flag football, roller hockey, swimming lessons, swim team, gymnastics, wrestling and karate.
 
A summer youth program begins the 2nd week in June and runs through mid July.

 
Green Sports ComplexA four-diamond baseball and softball complex. Used extensively to host baseball, softball and other events. For additional information call the Recreation Department 620-672-3261.

  • Golf:
    • Park Hills Golf & Supper Club is an 18-hole course with clubhouse, pro shop, cart rental, swimming and fine dining.  Numerous tournaments for members and guests are held annually at the Park Hills Country Club.  Call 620_672_7541 for golf and dining information.
    • Green Valley is a nine-hole golf course with clubhouse, located three miles north on Highway 61 and two miles east.  Call 620_672_3990.
    • Seidel's is a nine-hole public golf course located three miles north on Highway 61 and 3_3/4 miles east.  Call 620_672_6263.
     
  • Archery: Nennescah Valley Archers is an outdoor bow range located on Country Club Road, one-half miles south of Highway 54.  Archers hold scheduled shoots during the spring, summer and fall.
     
  • Skating: Rolla-Rena skating rink offers indoor skating for the public, private parties, roller hockey and skating equipment.  Call 620_672_6384 for hours.

The Jayhawk Conference is known as being one of the toughest in the country.  Beaver fans enjoy watching quality athletes participate in basketball, women's volleyball, golf, track, cross country, baseball, softball, cheerleading and rodeo.
 
Pratt Community College also hosts the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association's (NIRA) opening each year.
