Neighborhood
Revitalization allows for a rebate on increased property
taxes for new construction, both residential and commercial.

The
Micro Loan Program is a low-interest loan program
for businesses with five and fewer employees. Rate of interest
is 2 points above prime at the time of the loan. There are
some low-to-moderate income guidelines.

Other
business assistance
is available upon request, accompanied by a full business
plan and statement of needs. The requests are reviewed by
the board with consideration given to the number of jobs created,
the return to the community in the way of property tax and/or
sales tax, and capital investment. The Economic Development
corporation can help with state assistance programs as well.
Pratt Area Economic Development Corporation is part of an
Enterprise Facilitation Grant in four counties to enhance
entrepreneurial possibilities.

PIER
is a program designed to reward anyone who has a potential
prospect in mind that may be interested in locating in Pratt
County. To qualify for the reward one needs to give whatever
information is available to the Economic Development board.
The business must locate in Pratt County within six months
after contact, and employ five people within the year following
location. Final decisions remain with the Board of Directors.

trade center for a 50-mile radius with a trade pull factor of
1.3.
- Agriculture
and the railroad have helped form the community into
the regional trade center it is today.
- A regional
medical center, community college, outstanding educational system,
a resurgence in the oil and gas industry, a manufacturing base,
diverse shopping, and expanding technology infrastructure provide
opportunities and strength to our community.
